Week 4 MVP’s
Steven Hauschka could have won the game with a 61 yard field goal with 13 seconds remaining but fell short handing the Hawks a disappointing and heartbreaking loss.
Still, despite the setback, there were a few good things that came from their Week 4 game. There were standouts on both sides of the ball.
They are highlighted in the Week 4 Offensive & Defensive Game Balls.
QB Tavaris Jackson – Jackson threw for a career-high 319 yards and had his first three-touchdown game since throwing four TDs at Arizona in December 2008. If not for Zach Miller`s fumble at the end zone stripe, Jackson would have had four TDs.
Jackson hit nine different receivers on Sunday and showed that he finally had a good command of the Hawk offense. His 2 rushes for 16 yards came at crucial times and moved the chains on both occasion.
He was in charge of blanketing one of the most gifted receivers in the league, Roddy White and although he didn`t stop White all together, he did limit the damage that White could have put on the secondary.
Trufant was second on the team in tackles with 7 and he had two assists on the afternoon. A nice quiet defensive performance.
