So uh… That was… something?
I feel like I should give out game balls and do a “What Went Wrong article this week.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy the Seahawks won, and there is a ton of positives to take away.
But I’m not proud of this win.
Offensive Game Ball
Russell Wilson had a game every rookie quarterback has. Non flattering ones.
But he’s a professional and he will learn from it. The receiving core should take some of the blame, as it was one of their worst games in terms of getting separation or getting off the line with any sort of desire.

Do I have any other choice than Golden Tate?
He ended with 10 completions for 130 yards and two touchdowns.
Take away the apparent last second touchdown and that stat line is a lot uglier.
Marshawn Lynch is everything to this offense. Especially with a rookie quarterback. If Marshawn can keep pounding the ball 25 times a game for 100+ yards, Russell Wilson will be in a good position to succeed.
Horrible play calling at times effected Lynch’s numbers on Monday night though.
Do I have any other choice?
Golden Tate, the guy that sort of caught the game winning touchdown receives this week’s Offensive Game Ball. Even if it is an interception, the effort he put into getting that ball (ignoring the obvious pass interference) is noteworthy.
Tate finished with 3 catches for 68 yards and two touchdowns.
Defensive Game Ball
What an amazing performance by the defense. Seriously, so proud and happy for these guys. How many 12′s agree with this?

Speaking of KJ Wright, he paced the defense with 9 tackles and looked like an All-Pro out there. Exciting stuff from the fourth rounder!

EIGHT count ‘em EIGHT quarterback sacks!
For the first time here at NWSportsBeat, I’m awarding the Defensive Game Ball to a unit as opposed to a player.
The pass rush.
Let’s not lie to ourselves Seahawk fans, this pass rush stunk last year.
I mean, hitting your head against a wall on third and long before the snap because you know that quarterback will have all the time in the world.
Fast forward to Monday night. EIGHT count ‘em EIGHT quarterback sacks! Four for Chris Clemons (four!!!), two for Bruce Irvin (he also discount double-checked in his sack dance) and another two for Brandon Mebane.
This unit combined with a terrific secondary and run defense, look out!
Special Teams Game Ball
Can I talk about the pass rush more? It brings me joy, more than this:
“@jsitton71: @evanmoore89 your a jokeso is pete and golden and russell”>>I said I love you too.

Steven Hauschka went 0/0 but nailed that clutch PAT after the game was over and everyone was ready to go home.
Leon Washington had a quiet night on returns, and most significantly lost yardage on the last minute punt return.
Jon Ryan, you get my Game Ball! Another night for the Canadian Cannon, booting six punts including one for 73 yards.
Against his former team, no less.
That’s it for this week, 12′s!
- Russell Wilson—10/21 130 yards 2 TD
- Marshawn Lynch – 25 carries 98 yards 3.9 Avg.
- Golden Tate – 7 targets 3 reception 68 yards 2 TD’s
- K.J. Wright – 11 tackles (2 assists)
- Chris Clemons 4 Sacks
- Bruce Irvin 2 Sacks
- Brandon Mebane 2 Sacks
