Week 16 MVP’s
In heartbreaking fashion, the Seattle Seahawks were eliminated from playoff contention.
A 19-17 loss against NFC West rival San Francisco 49ers has the Hawks at very least knowing that they compete with the top teams in the NFL like the Giants, the Ravens and now the 49ers.
There is absolutely ZERO doubt about who the Offensive Game Ball belongs to this week.
But in a game that provided only one sack, no interceptions or no forced fumbles for Seattle, the Defensive Game Ball was a little more difficult to determine.
So, without further adieu, let’s get to the Christmas edition of the Seattle Seahawks Week 16 Offensive & Defensive Game Balls.
Offense
Marshawn Lynch rushed 21 times for 107 yards and a touchdown against the 49ers in Week 16.
Lynch was able to extend his touchdown streak to 11 games and combined for 23 touches and 129 total yards – all against a 49ers team that is #1 against the run in the NFL by a mile and giving up an average of just 71.50 yards per game.

Week 16 Defensive Gameball goes to Kam Chancellor
Lynch became the first runner to score against San Francisco on the ground all season long and became the first RB that has been able to crack the century mark rushing against the 49ers all season.
Mr. Lynch – Merry Christmas and please accept the Week 16 Offensive Game Ball – you certainly deserve it!
Defense
As mentioned before, there was not a whole lot of standout defensive performances in Week 16 but Kam Chancellor managed double digit solo tackles – double what anyone else on the Hawks defense was able to register.
Chancellor is another piece of an effective puzzle that will certainly be a force in the 2012 season.
Kam Chancellor – you had a whale of a ball game on Saturday.
For Christmas, I didn`t have a whole lot of money but I did get you something – the Week 16 Defensive Game Ball.
