Redskins vs. Seahawks Week 12 Gambling Odds & Handicapping

Washington vs. Seattle NFL Betting?

The Seattle Seahawks will be looking to make it three straight wins this weekend when they play host to a Washington Redskins team that has completely fallen apart at the seams. The Skins bring a six game losing streak into the game while the Hawks have won two straight for the first time this season.

Welcome back Washington Remember 2007?

Washington has fallen victim to brutal play, a roster carousel and even the occasional injury since starting the season 3-1. They are a complete mess offensively with the 30th ranked running game failing to find any sort of rhythm and consistency.

Is it Ryan Torain of Roy Helu at RB? Nobody knows – not even Mike Shanahan by the looks of it.

Neither running back is likely to have any success on Sunday against Seattle’s improving and rather stout 8th ranked run defense. The Skins are averaging 84 yards on the ground and the Hawks are giving up 88.6 yards per game rushing.

That leaves the Redskins 16th ranked passing game to carry the load. It appears as though Rex Grossman will get the start in Seattle after a decent outing last week against Dallas. But Grossman is only a few weeks removed from being benched in favor of John Beck – suffice to say neither man is the answer for the spiraling Skins.

Washington’s defense has been the most consistent part of their game and is the only way that they will keep this game close. They are 18th versus the run (Marshawn Lynch could find some success) and they are 10th against the pass.

Tarvaris Jackson will likely have his hands full with a very good pass rush this week but Jackson has the benefit of being able to hand the ball off to one of the hotter RBs in the NFL today.

Seattle is playing their best ball of the season, hands down.

They proved last week that a win over Baltimore was more a product of the team coming together rather than a fluke. Marshawn Lynch has now scored a touchdown in six straight games!

He is getting the ball a ton and is making it work.

Redskins vs. Seahawks Gambling Odds & Preview

He has averaged nearly 111 yards rushing in three games – two of which came against Dallas and Baltimore’s stout run defences. Lynch figures to be a big part of Sunday’s game plan and why not with the way that he has been playing?

Seattle offensive line has been solid in run blocking but they have also turned the corner when it comes to pass protection. Tarvaris Jackson isn’t exactly top tier but he has done enough to give his team a chance to win.

Mike Williams showed up last week and could do some damage again this week as he will likely draw limited coverage because of the play making ability of Sidney Rice and the emergence of Doug Baldwin.

The Hawks defense can take as much credit as the offense for the recent turnaround. They sacked Sam Bradford five times last week and forced three turnovers. This is the same unit that made the Ravens offense look average the week before. Seattle is 15th against the pass and a solid 8th against the run.

Dave’s Free Seahawks Betting Prediction

Washington has fallen on hard times going 0-6 SU and 1-5 ATS in their last six games. They have done well versus the Seahawks lately – 5-2 SU and 4-2-1 ATS in their last seven but they, like most teams have a hard time in Seattle – just 1-3-1 ATS in their last five trips to the Pacific Northwest.

Seattle is a much better team at home than they are on the road as demonstrated by their impressive win two weeks ago against Baltimore.

Washington is a mess right now – the Hawks have caught them at precisely the right time.

Expect Seattle’s defense to create havoc and the offense (Marshawn Lynch) to do enough to keep the Skins in the dumper.

Seattle is playing well at the moment, Washington is not.

Pick: Seattle Seahawks -4
