Seahawks Fantasy Forecast
The Seattle Seahawks are coming off perhaps their most impressive win of the season – last week’s 22-17 win over the juggernaut Baltimore Ravens.
This week they head out on the road to take on a very vulnerable St. Louis Rams team. Seattle is known as a poor road team but they did post an impressive road victory already this season – an improbable win in New York a few weeks back.
St. Louis’s defense has been nothing special this season – the Hawks have a real opportunity to post some decent numbers and come away with yet another road win.
The Rams are 12th against the pass and are dead last against the run in the NFL.
QB Tarvaris Jackson – 245 yards passing, 2 touchdowns – Jackson has yet to throw a touchdown since returning from injury three weeks ago – only six on the season (3 in one game). But that should change this week – the Rams have always allowed at least one passing touchdown per opponent in St. Louis.
I like Jackson to do some damage – decent yardage totals and touchdown passes for Marshawn Lynch and one of his receivers.
Confidence is a funny thing and it appears as though Jackson has gained confidence ahead of this game.
RB Marshawn Lynch – 80 yards rushing, 1 touchdown, 20 yards receiving – Lynch has been wildly inconsistent so far this season but he has posted back-to-back 100 yards games.
This week he gets to go up against the Rams’ worst ranked run defense. If Lynch can go for 135 yards and a TD in Dallas and 109 yards and a score against Baltimore, he SHOULD find some success against St. Louis’s leaky run defense.
A five game TD streak should continue either through the air or on the ground.
Believe it or not, Marshawn Lynch is startworthy in Fantasy this week as a decent RB2 or Flex option.
WR Sidney Rice – 60 yards receiving – Rice was banged up on Sunday against the Ravens but should play this week. Although Rice has only scored one touchdown so far this season, he could post OK numbers against the Rams – he is clearly Seattle’s best receiver!
Rice, despite a scoring slump is Seattle’s best Fantasy WR option.
WR Doug Baldwin – 50 yards receiving, 1 touchdown – Doug Baldwin also sustained a concussion in Week 10 but should play. He, like Rice is an OK option and is my pick to score. He is too inconsistent to count on for Fantasy purposes but he is in line for some decent numbers this week.
*** Be sure that Rice and Baldwin are medically cleared for Sunday’s game***
WR Mike Williams – 10 yards receiving – Williams is officially off the Fantasy radar! Don’t count on him making much of an impact on Sunday
WR Ben Obomanu – 30 yards receiving – Obomanu continues to be a decent possession receiver but he has no Fantasy value. 30-50 yards is a reasonable expectation but that’s about the top end for Obomanu.
WR Golden Tate – Tate is the X-factor in this game. If Rice and Baldwin are ruled out, Tate could post decent numbers – he had 46 yards receiving last week. If Tate starts, 60 yards receiving is not an unreasonable expectation.
If Rice and Baldwin are cleared, Tate’s numbers fall off the table all together!
TE Zach Miller – 10 yards receiving – Miller actually showed up last week and made his presence felt. His numbers still don’t warrant Fantasy consideration but it is nice to see Miller being included in the game plan!
