Fantasy Football – Seattle Seahawks Week 7 Predictions

Seahawks Fantasy Forecast

The Seattle Seahawks return from their bye this week and are on quite a role having won two of their last three games to sit at 2-3. Unfortunately, the availability of Tavaris Jackson for the Cleveland game is up in the air ahead of the game – a pectoral injury may force Charlie Whitehurst into action.

For now, I am assuming that Jackson sits!

The Hawks have been piling up some Fantasy points over their last few games – the running game has found its stride and the passing game has been a terrific surprise.

How will the offense do this week in Cleveland against the pesky Browns?

Let’s take a look in Dave B’s Seattle Seahawks Fantasy Forecast – Week 7

QB Charlie Whitehurst – 200 yards passing, 1 touchdown – Tavaris Jackson suffered a high-grade pectoral strain and hopes were that they bye would be enough to get him back on the field. It doesn’t look like that is going to happen.

Enter Charlie Whitehurst who had some success in New York when he completed 11 of 19 for 149 yards and one score.

Obviously, temper your expectations here – Whitehurst was a backup for a reason. Cleveland has had some success against the pass this season and I expect that to continue to a degree on Sunday. Whitehurst likely won’t lose the game for Seattle but he won’t win it either.

Breaking the 200 yard barrier would be a success this week – obviously Whitehurst is not Fantasy starter material!

RB Marshawn Lynch 70 yards rushing, 1 touchdown, 30 yards receiving– Marshawn will be the key if Seattle has a chance at victory on Sunday. Lynch has scored in each of the last two games and even ran for 98 yards in New York on 12 rushes. Keep in mind that he has gained fewer than 35 yards in three of his games however.

Charlie Whitehurst

Enter Charlie Whitehurst?

Lynch has been steadily improving and with his pass catching abilities has elevated to possible flex Fantasy starter status.

Cleveland has been fairly generous to opposing running backs this season. I like Lynch to have a decent game this week – 100 yards combined and a touchdown is certainly not out of the question!

WR Sidney Rice – 50 yards receiving – Rice came back down to earth in Week 5 after having 109 and 79 yards in the two previous games with a score against the Falcons. He will get his yards for sure but is as much a decoy in the offense as a productive pass catcher this week.

I like him to draw a lot of attention and to open the field for…

WR Doug Baldwin – 60 yards receiving, 1 touchdown – Baldwin is a weapon as shown by 5-84 and 8-136 in the last two games and a touchdown in New York. He is the most exciting Seattle prospect, hand down!

I like him to take advantage of the extra attention that Sidney Rice draws and to score again this week.

WR Ben Obomanu – 40 yards receiving – Obomanu has simply become the possession receiver on this team and he’s done an OK job.

He’ll be OK in his role but is not on the Fantasy radar just yet.

TE ???????TE Zach Miller is questionableWho knows who will start for Seattle at Tight End this week – injuries have decimated this position.

It wouldn’t have mattered much anyhow – the Tight End position has been wasted in Seattle.
