Seahawks Fantasy Forecast
The Seattle Seahawks did it again on Monday night – another win that has put the Hawks to within one game of the elusive .500 mark.
This week, the Hawks travel to Chicago to take on a reeling Bears team that has lost three games in a row, culminating in the amazing come-from-behind Tebow comeback last week.
Sunday’s game promises to be a typical Bears “grind-em-out” type of game.
The Bears have lost the two biggest pieces to their offense to injury and will look to dumb the game down a whole lot. Defense will be the star of the game for both sides – huge offensive Fantasy numbers likely won’t happen when the Hawks meet the Bears on Sunday.
So what can we expect from Seattle in Week 15?
Dave B’s Seattle Seahawks Fantasy Forecast breaks down all of the offensive positions and projects what can be expected in what is sure to be a low scoring affair.
QB Tarvaris Jackson – 200 yards passing, 1 touchdown – Tarvaris Jackson just keeps doing what he has done the whole season – passing when absolutely necessary and limiting mistakes. There is no doubt about Tarvaris’s role on this team – manage the offense and let the running game win it for you!
Jackson passed for 224 yards and a touchdown on Monday night and has remained under 230 yards in the last 6 weeks. There is no reason to think anything different in this game. Chicago has a good secondary – something that Jackson and the coaches are wary of.
Expect typically average numbers from Tarvaris this week in what will be a low scoring game. He is definitely not fantasy Football material!
RB Marshawn Lynch – 100 yards rushing,1 touchdown, 20 yards receiving – Marshawn Lynch has scored in nine straight games and on Monday night he finished with 115 yards on 23 carries and a score in the 30-13 win. He has hit the century mark for the five of his last six games. While I can’t see Lynch getting a season high against the Bears, I do know that the coaches will ride him into the ground.
I know it’s the Bears (they have only allowed two-100+ yards rushers all season) but after seeing what Lynch was able to do against Baltimore, I am projecting him to have solid numbers this week. Another 100 yards and a touchdown are not out of the question. Start Lynch in fantasy as the Hottest RB in the game!
WR Golden Tate – 30 yards receiving – Tate was the Hot prospect for the Hawks going into Week 14 – he had scored in two straight games. But Monday’s 39 yard effort had him crashing back to earth. I still like Tate to be a part of the offense this week albeit in a more limited fashion.
Tate certainly isn’t worth Fantasy consideration this week!
WR Doug Baldwin – 60 yards receiving, 1 touchdown – Doug Baldwin was a beast on Monday night and is unquestionably Seattle’s best receiver at the moment – not bad for an undrafted rookie! He had 7 catches for 93 yards and a touchdown in Week 14. While I don’t expect him to improve on those numbers, I do like Baldwin to come close.
Baldwin has become an OK flex for Fantasy squads.
I projected him a tad low this week but am optimistically thinking that his numbers will be north of what has been projected.
WR Ben Obomanu – 30 yards receiving – Obomanu has struggled with the emergence of Baldwin and Tate. His numbers are consistent however – 30-50 yards and no touchdowns are right about where he should land.
TE Zach Miller – 10 yards receiving – Miller is getting more looks almost every week but is definitely not Fantasy worthy. It would be nice to see him more involved however!
