Seahawks Fantasy Forecast – Week 6
The Seattle Seahawks finally return home this week to take on the Tennessee Titans in a game that, on paper, looks like a mismatch for the home side.
Last week was a terrific effort but a loss in Indianapolis. Fantasy wise, Seattle was OK in Indy but the Fantasy points were spread out indeed!
This week, expect Seattle’s run-heavy game plan to return – Marshawn should be the star of the show.
Seattle still looks every bit the elite team everyone envisioned before the season started but Fantasy success has been very difficult to predict.
That said there is some Fantasy Gold heading into Week 6 – let’s take a look.
QB Russell Wilson
40 yards rushing, 220, 1 TD
Russell Wilson is a hard man to peg in the world of Fantasy – that’s for sure! Last week he passed for 210 yards and two scores while adding an impressive 102 yards on the ground – a very good Fantasy day. This after some disappointing Fantasy outings.
This week, at home, I think Wilson returns to his “game manager” style. He won’t be called upon for the Hawks to win. Look for Seattle to eat up the clock and use their running game early and often to get it done.
Wilson is just an OK option in Fantasy this week with plenty of upside.
If stuck – take a shot but temper expectations.
RB Marshawn Lynch
125 yards rushing, 1 TD 3 catches, 20 yards
We still haven’t seen that monster game from Marshawn Lynch this year – I think it comes in Week 6. He has been productive but for some reason is being taken out of the game plan lately. Back at home, where Beast Mode rules, look for Lynch to be the star of the game.
He is a top 5 RB option in the world of Fantasy this week – Enjoy!
WR Doug Baldwin
3 catches, 50 yards, 1 TD
If I project an OK game for Russell Wilson, I have to do the same for his pass catchers. For Fantasy purposes, the Seattle WRs are too much of a crap-shoot. Any one of them can have a big day – too hard to predict. Heck, even Jermaine Kearse joined the party last week!
Doug Baldwin will get his yards but is not a Fantasy option this week. He may score this week but is still too risky to start.
WR Sidney Rice
3 catches, 50 yards
Ditto for Sidney Rice. You never know which guy is going to step up – which guy will be Wilsons Flavor of the Week. Outside of a good week against Jacksonville, Rice has yet to eclipse 40 yards receiving in a game this year!
WR Golden Tate
3 catches, 50 yards
Golden Tate caught a TD last week but before that had two games with 20 yards receiving. His numbers last week offer some optimism – unfortunately no Fantasy confidence.
TE Luke Willson
3 catches 30 yards
Zach Miller missed last week and figures to be on the sidelines again this week. Luke Willson shouldn’t be an enormous drop-off and is worthy of the 20-45 yards Tight Ends typically gets for the Hawks.
PK Steven Hauschka
1 FG 3 XP
275 yards, 10 points, 5 sacks, 1 FF, 2 Int.
Ryan Fitzpatrick starts at QB for Tennessee and Chris Johnson is averaging 3.1 yards per carry and 58.8 yards per game this year. Translation – Seattle should have a field day in front of their rabid home town crowd.
They are a top 3 Defensive Fantasy option this week.
