Seahawks fantasy forecast – Week 9 NFL predictions

Seahawks Start ’em & Sit ’em

Well, Monday night’s effort was a bit of a disaster in Fantasy terms for the Seattle Seahawks but as all good teams do, they found a way to win the game. 7-1 sure sounds good doesn’t it?

This week they are back at home – finally to take on a reeling Tampa Bay team that just may be the worst in the game right now. The one strong area on the Bucs? The defense.

So how will Sunday’s game play out in terms of Fantasy for the Seattle roster players?

Let’s break it down.

QB Russell Wilson

30 rushing yards, 230 passing yards, 1 TD

Russell Wilson was running for his life on Monday night – sacked seven times en route to just 139 yards passing and 2 TDs. He lost Sidney Rice to injury in that game and who knows if Percy Harvin is ready to play. Translation – the Seahawks will lean heavily on the running game this week. Marshawn Lynch will be a motivated guy after his dud last week.

A steady diet of Lunch keeps Wilson’s numbers low.

The possibility of this game getting out of hand early also tempers expectations just a bit.

Is anyone NOT planning to play Lynch on Sunday in FFL? YOUR NUTS!

RB Marshawn Lynch

100 rushing yards, 2 TDs, 3 catches, 30 yards

Beast Mode gained only 23 yards in St. Louis and he wasn’t happy about it AT ALL. He will take his frustrations out on the Bucs this week. Lynch – at home will turn back into the player that we all know and love. He gets his this week to the tune of 100+ total yards and two scores.

WR Golden Tate

5-60, 1 TD

Sidney Rice is gone leaving just one viable pass catcher on the roster unless Percy suits up. Tate scored twice last week and clearly has Wilson’s confidence going forward. But as Seattle’s pass catchers have been all season, they will likely be hard to trust again this week.

We just never know who will be the star. As the only really qualified guy, Tate may be worth a risk as a flex however.

WR Jermaine Kearse

2 catches, 40 yards

Jermaine Kearse should definitely suck up some snaps and some targets this week with Rice out. How much does Russell Wilson trust him though? Not sure.

TE Zach Miller

2 catches, 30 yards

Zach Miller should also benefit from the lack of pass catchers on the roster but is always good for just 20-45 yards. I will project him in the middle somewhere.

PK Steven Hauschka

2 FG 4 XP

Defense / Special Teams

7 points, 275 yards, 3 sacks, 2 INT.

The Seahawks have not allowed a passing touchdown to any visitor this year. No one passed for more than 235 yards and all had at least two interceptions.

The 12th man has been dominant all season long and will be again this week. No offense can get in any sort of rhythm against this team at CenturyLink – period.

The Hawks, as they have been all season long are a top 3 Defensive unit this week. Start and enjoy!
