Seahawks vs 49ers Gambling?
Headline: Seahawks Travel to The Bay With NFC West Supremacy on the Line
How about those Seattle Seahawks! Week 6 saw them send their third NFL powerhouse home with their heads between their legs. This week they are on the road to take on the supposed power of their division – the San Francisco 49ers who were humbled at home last week and will certainly be out for revenge.
The Seattle Seahawks proved last week that they are not just a defense – the offense and the passing game specifically became a force to be reckoned with.

Russell Wilson had his best game as a pro by far passing not 292 yards and three scores with many of his passes being completed with pin point accuracy.
It was quite a game that can only serve to be an enormous confidence booster for Wilson and his team mates going forward.
The Hawks still have Marshawn Lynch although he was basically a non-factor in last week’s win. Seattle still owns the 7th ranked rushing game in the NFL but may have a tough time again this week against San Francisco’s stout run defense.
Seattle’s defense was a tad exposed in Week 6 but remember – they were playing against the New England Patriots! The Hawks still own a top 3 overall defense in the NFL – second against the run and 13th against the pass.
The San Francisco 49ers delivered a complete dud last week at home against the Giants scoring just three points and turning the ball over an uncharacteristic four times – this after outscoring their opposition 79-3 in their previous two games.
Taking care of the ball has been the calling card of this team the past couple of seasons – when they don’t do so, they simply don’t win!
They are not built to come from behind.
San Francisco needs to be able to run the ball – something they had trouble with last week against New York. They should have an equally tough time this week against a Seattle front that bottled up a New England running game that had come into last week having rushed for over 200 yards in two consecutive games.
San Francisco is the #1 running team in the NFL averaging over 176 yards per game – the rushers take pressure off of Alex Smith – when the game is in Alex’s hands, bad things tend to happen!
San Francisco enters Sunday’s showdown with the 26th ranked passing game. As mentioned, they have to be able to run the ball – they aren’t going to beat anyone throwing the ball!
The 49ers’ defense has been typically solid this season although they were shredded last week on the ground and through the air.
They are second against the pass allowing just 183 yards per game and they are 9th against the run. Ahmad Bradshaw had some success last week against this unit – it will be interesting to see if Marshawn can emulate that success.

- The total has gone UNDER in 6 of Seattle’s last 8 games on the road

- San Francisco is 4-2 SU in its last 6 games when playing Seattle
- San Francisco is 4-2 SU in its last 6 games when playing at home against Seattle
This has defensive struggle written all over it! Both defenses are top tier – the one difference appears to be the offenses. Alex Smith looked flustered last week – there may just be a formula for beating this team!
I expect a close game at very least here with the Seahawks conceivably pulling one of their late game comebacks once again. 7 1/2 points is way too many – if and only if the Hawks lose, I see it coming by a field goal!
Take a look at the Under here as well – I can’t see these teams putting up a lot of points on each others’ defenses.
