Start ‘em & Sit ‘em Week 7
Fantasy Football – Seattle Seahawks Week 7 Predictions
What a week it was for the Seattle Seahawks last Sunday! The offense kicked it up a notch and Russell Wilson had his best game as a pro. Marshawn Lynch struggled against New England but I guess he was due for a bit of a dud.
In Week 7 the Hawks face one of the most feared defenses in the land when they pay visit to San Francisco.
There hasn’t been a whole lot of success against the Niners for the past couple of years – I smell a defensive battle with no offensive stars on the horizon!
So which Seahawks are worthy of a start for your Fantasy squad this week – let’s take a look.
Seahawks Fantasy Forecast for Week 6:
QB Russell Wilson
10 rush yards, 170 passing yards, 1 TD
Wilson passed for 292 yards and three TDs last week – mostly because the Hawks had to throw in order to keep up.
This week I think he falls back to earth the 49ers are #2 in the NFL versus the pass. I see an average game for Wilson this week – that means slightly under 200 yards and another TD – right along with his season average so far.
Do I like his progress? Heck ya! Will I start him in my Fantasy league?
RB Marshawn Lynch
80 rush yards, 1 catch 10 yards
Lynch had a poor game last week from a Fantasy standpoint but will likely find more opportunities this week in a low scoring defensive battle. San Francisco has allowed just one rushing TD all season long (it happened to be last week) and I see that trend continuing this week.
Marshawn Lynch will get his touches and some tough yards but finding the end zone will be a very tough task.
I like him to have an average week. If you are stuck, certainly use him but if you have other options, this may be the week to use it.
WR Sidney Rice
4 catches, 50 yards
He has been fairly productive – as much of a threat as there is for the Hawks passing game. However, he has just one score in the last five games and has topped 50 yards only against the weakest of secondaries.
It may be best to view his as a matchup only start at this point and against SF his matchup is less-than-favorable.
WR Golden Tate
3 catches, 40 yards
Tate is the big-play guy in the passing game but he likely won’t be called upon all that much. In a low scoring game I think Golden Tate struggles this week to an average game. 3 catches for 40-50 yards seems about right.
If there is a player that will catch a TD this week, I like Tate to be the man however. He’s still too risky however to count on in your Fantasy league.
WR Doug Baldwin
2 catches, 30 yards
Baldwin had one long catch last week but otherwise was held in check. Baldwin showed up for the first time last week but that was just one long catch and his first touchdown of the year.
With no more than 37 yards in any other game, he remains a bench player.
TE Zach Miller
3 catches 30 yards
Miller has still failed to score this year and although he shows up at precisely the right time he struggles against top defenses and SF is certainly a top defense.
PK Steven Hauschka
1 FG 1 XP
300 yards, 3 sacks, 2 Int., 1 FF
Based on the 49ers ineptitude last week the Hawks defense has to be started this week. San Francisco has a tough time against tough defenses and Seattle’s #6 overall defenses should be able to hold their own.
There likely won’t be many points scored this week but there will definitely be some turnovers to be had.
Start the Hawks defense with confidence this week and watch them reward your Fantasy squad.
