Seahawks Fantasy Start + Sit vs. 49ers
The Seattle Seahawks head out on the road for the last time hopefully this Sunday looking to rebound from a loss to the San Francisco 49ers last week.
Things promise to get a lot easier this week – the dysfunctional Giants and their average defense await one of the most well-rounded clubs in the NFL.
So which Seahawks can you trust for your Fantasy Football playoffs? There are certainly some intriguing options! Let’s take a look.
QB Russell Wilson
20 yards rushing, 245 yards passing, 2 TDs
Russell Wilson had a bit of a down game last week, but still showed that he can make things happen even against a great defense. The Giants are far from great, so he should have a ton of room to roam and do some damage.
Wilson may not be a great start this week, but you could certainly do worse. He is good for two scores as well as good yardage against the G-Men.
RB Marshawn Lynch
90 yards rushing, 1 TD. 1 catch-10 yards
Marshawn Lynch will be looking to add to his 12 TDs on the year and is a good bet to get it done against New York’s average defense.
Interestingly, Lynch has eclipsed the 100-yard mark just three times this year. But he remains in must-start territory and is almost a sure bet to get in for a score this week.
WR Doug Baldwin
5 catches-70 yards, 1 TD
Doug Baldwin has scored three TDs in his last five games and is becoming “The Guy” without Sidney Rice and Percy Harvin in the lineup. His average over the past six weeks is 70 yards – I will stick to that as well as pencil him in for a score this week.
He has failed to score a TD on the road this year, however. Baldwin is an OK play in your Fantasy playoffs if stuck – he will produce like a WR2/3 against the Giants.
WR Golden Tate
4 catches-60 yards
Golden Tate is the big play guy who hasn’t broken one in a while. He may this week, although I wouldn’t recommend Tate to start in your Fantasy playoffs, I have him in the sleeper category. Wilson is going to throw the ball Sunday and there is a serious lack of players to catch those passes.
Tate gets his Sunday, but remains on my Fantasy bench.
TE Zach Miller
3 catches-35 yards, 1 TD
Zach Miller got upstaged by rookie Luke Wilson last week. This week, I like Miller to be the one catching a short TD score from Wilson.
As always, we can expect 20-45 yards from Miller, but I do like him to hit pay-dirt this week.
Am I starting Miller in my Fantasy playoffs? No. Am I confident he can have a good game against New York? Yes.
PK Steven Hauschka
2 FG 3 XP
Defense + Special Teams
13 points, 325 yards, 3 sacks, 2 Int., 1 FF
Eli Manning has thrown 17 interceptions, and the Giants have been guilty of more than their share of game-changing fumbles and sacks allowed.
Translation: Fire up the Seahawks’ motivated defense and enjoy the points bonanza.
Seattle is a top-three start this week, and it should do its part in getting you to the next round in your Fantasy playoffs.
