Well those days are gone and suddenly the Hawks find themselves only two games back of the Atlanta Falcons for an NFC Wild Card spot.

The Hawks’ opposition this week? Another team that they are chasing, the struggling Chicago Bears.

Seattle heads to Soldier Field on a modest two game win streak to face a Bears squad that has lost three straight games and has looked pretty bad in the process.

Seattle’s mid season turnaround may have come a little late but there is still no denying that this is a team on the rise – one that has some very good pieces in place! Seattle currently has the 24th best passing game in the NFL and is improving week to week – Tarvaris Jackson has now tossed at least one touchdown in his last four games.

Seattle’s running game has also improved going from 31st to 20th in the NFL in the matter of six weeks. Marshawn Lynch leads the league in rushing since Week 9 – 706 yards, and he has scored in a team record nine straight games. “Beast Mode” is on fire and should find some more success against a reeling Chicago squad.

Defense has also been a nice surprise for Seattle. They are 14th against the pass and 11th against the run.

This group is playing solid ball from top to bottom and should give the Cutler and Forte-less Bears fits.

Chicago is struggling to say the least – three straight losses has them clinging to a Playoff spot that seemed almost guaranteed a few weeks ago. Caleb Hanie and Marion Barber have taken over from Jay Cutler and Matt Forte – a serious downgrade at the most vital positions!

The Bears as a result have lost three straight games and have scored a total of just 13 points in their last two losses combined.

It will certainly be up to the Chicago defense in this one – the offense will provide little or no help against Seattle’s emerging defense.

The Bears have had their issues against the pass – a shocking 28th ranked and giving up over 256 yards per game. The run defense ranks 10th but have been a tad vulnerable during their three game losing streak. It may be a product of the defense being on the field a whole lot more than when Jay Cutler was at the helm.

Dave’s Free Seahawks Betting Prediction

The Seattle Seahawks are playing very well at the moment but the same cannot be said for the Chicago Bears.

The Hawks have rounded into one of the more complete teams in the league the last five or six weeks – there is little weakness on either side of the ball.

Seattle has had issues against Chicago recently – 2-4 SU in their last six and 3-6 ATS in their last nine. The Hawks are also an unflattering 2-4 SU and ATS in their last six games at Soldier Field.

This game will boil down to who can score more on each others’ stout defense.

With Seattle’s running game among the best in the NFL right now and with the confidence that Tarvaris Jackson has gained over the past month, Seattle looks like the team better suited to score. In a low scoring tilt, take the road team to prevail!

Pick: Seattle Seahawks +3.5

I like the stats because it is facts and data so nothing can argue about.  However,
would the stats be misleading due to new coaching staff and player?
