*ATS Matchup Report*
But a closer look reveals the fact that second place in the NFC West, a .500 record and bragging rights are on the line for both clubs.
The Seattle Seahawks are 5-2 since their 2-6 start – the two losses are a two point loss to the 49ers and a loss to the Redskins in a game that they should have won.
The team has been good even great at times during the second half of the season – they are a test for any team at this point of the season.
Seattle’s offense has been Marshawn Lynch. Lynch himself has scored at least a touchdown in 11 straight games, has rushed for at least 100 yards in six of his last eight games and he leads the NFL with 855 yards since Week 9.
It’s a good thing – the passing game is 24th and averaging 194.27 yards per game.
Defensively, the Seahawks had a down game statistically against the 49ers but they have been solid late in the season. They are 13th against the pass and the run and they give up the 5th least points per game in the NFL.
The Arizona Cardinals have been even more impressive since their brutal start. After starting 1-6 the Cardinals have won 6 of 7 games to get to a whisker of the elusive .500 mark.
The difference appears to be John Skelton who has filled in for injured Kevin Kolb and has gone 5-2 as a starter.
Arizona’s offense won’t wow you – they own the league’s 17th ranked passing game and 25th ranked running game. Larry Fitzgerald made the All Pro team… again.
He is still as dangerous as ever even though he has some brutal talent throwing him the ball.
The Cardinals defense, like the offense doesn’t possess numbers that jump off the page. They are 18th against the pass and the run and they are 17th in points against.
Somehow, they are doing enough – the team has won six of their last seven games.
- The Seattle Seahawks are 5-2 SU in their last seven games but are just 6-19 SU in their last 25 on the road.
- They are 7-17-1 ATS in their last 25 game on the road but have recently gone 4-0-1 ATS away from home.
- The Hawks are 1-4 SU and ATS in their last five trips to Arizona.
- The Arizona Cardinals are 4-1 SU in their last five games overall and at home.
Dave’s Free Seahawks Betting Prediction
The Seattle Seahawks have been very good in the second half of the season as have the Cardinals.
Consider however that three of the Cards’ six wins have come in overtime and they don’t look as impressive as you would think.
Nobody is stopping Marshawn Lynch right now – he was the first running back all season that gained 100 yards and scored a touchdown on the vaunted 49ers.
I can’t see the Cardinals stopping him either.
Pick: Seattle Seahawks +2 ½
