Seahawks vs Cardinals Betting?
Are ya ready? I have been for months. The Seattle Seahawks finally begin their 2012 campaign on Sunday with a trip to the desert to take on a team that on the surface appears a tad dysfunctional going into the season.

*ATS Matchup Report*
Both Seattle and the Arizona Cardinals will be looking kick off the season on the right foot Sunday in this early but key divisional matchup.
The Hawks certainly looked good in the preseason going 4-0 and playing very well on both sides of the ball. But that was the preseason!
Now the real work begins. Seattle will go with Doug Flutie II at QB. Surprising rookie Russell Wilson beat out favorite for the job Matt Flynn. It’s not that Flynn was bad in camp, it boiled down to Wilson being uber-impressive in his play making ability, his decision making and his wisdom beyond his years.
Seattle has the benefit of a rock-solid running game to take some pressure off the rookie although there have been rumblings of Marshawn Lynch having back troubles already! If Lynch doesn’t play Seattle could be in some trouble although Robert Turbin and Kregg Lumpkin looked decent in camp as well.
The addition of Braylon Edwards and the long-awaited health of Sidney Rice should also help the rookie QB in his first ever start. Zach Miller also looms at Tight End as a security blanket for the first year pivot.
Seattle’s defense appears to have picked up where it left off at the end of 2011 – stout and brimming with talent. It would be a disappointment not to see Seattle in the top 10 defenses this year. The “D” has a chance to be a difference maker on this team this year and this weekend particularly.
The Arizona Cardinals took until the last minute to announce who was going to lead their offense – John Skelton got the starting nod over Kevin Kolb who now becomes the priciest backup in the league. The passing game has looked OK during the preseason but don’t let that fool you. It is no secret that slowing down the only weapon Larry Fitzgerald is the only goal for opposing defenses. Sound easy? It’s not!
The Cards also enter the season with an underwhelming yet still largely unproven running game. On paper Beanie Wells and Ryan Williams don’t look all that daunting but realistically, one of these two could emerge as the MVP on this offense.
As for Arizona’s defense. They were OK last year and figure to be much of the same this year. They likely won’t steal any games for Arizona but they likely won’t be solely responsible for many losses either!
Dave’s Free Won’t Cost You Anything Seahawks Betting Prediction
The Arizona Cardinals are 5-1 in their last six games – surprising! They are also money at home – 5-0 in their last five games in the desert. Seattle is 4-1-1 against the spread in their last six road games, but is just 1-5 against the spread in their last six games in Arizona.
There is little doubt about which is the better, more cohesive team heading into Week 1 – the Seattle Seahawks look prime for a decent run at the NFC West. It all starts Sunday!
I expect the Seahawks to put a bit of a whoopin on Arizona – the 2 1/2 points don’t scare me at all. Take Seattle to start the season off right!
