Pro Bowler Michael Robinson announces his return to the Seahawks

Time To Win!

Moves are starting to trickle in here in 2012 NFL Free Agency for the Seattle Seahawks

2011 Pro Bowl full back Michael Robinson announced via twitter that he would be returning to Seattle at about 7:30 PT.

At the time I am writing this we do not know any of the contract details. Bringing Michael Robinson back was an important move for the Seahawks.

By signing Marshawn Lynch last week, Heath Farwell, Red Bryant and now Robinson this week the Seahawks return the identity of their team and some valuable core contributors from 2011.

They can now focus on signing other free agents that are in town, namely Flynn and Jones. (See below)

We love M-Rob

Earlier this week I wrote a “Love’ em hate’ em” piece on every position except special teams.

Robinson was the only player in free agancy at the position that I “loved”

Here is what I wrote:

Michael Robinson is a 29 year old fullback coming off a season where he played in his first pro bowl.

He has finally made the transition from quarterback to fullback and has become a solid blocker now that he has learned the position.

A fullback can play into his 30′s and still be effective.” He’s a definite win in free agancy for the Seahawks front office.

Bringing Robinson back was an important move for the Seahawks.

Jason Jones

In other news the Seahawks are hosting DT Jason Jones and QB Matt Flynn tonight and tomorrow. Both players were in the “Love’ em” portion.

Here is what I had to say about them earlier in the week.

“DT Jason Jones – His versatility to play inside or out could put him on Seattle’s radar. He is better while playing in the interior line but he does have the ability to move outside.

For his career he has averaged 2.3 tackles and 0.3 sacks per game. Jason will turn 26 before the start of the Season.”

Matt Flynn

Matt Flynn is 26 years old with 4 years experience and a 62.1% completion rate.

Matt has thrown 9 touchdowns and 5 interception (1.8:1 TD:INT ratio) while throwing for just over 1,000 yards in 34 games.

The 34 games is not very indicative of actual playing time. There have only been a few games where he went out and ran the offense.

I trust John Schneider knows this kid well enough to make the right call here. If we see the Seahawks make a serious push for him I believe it is possible this is the quarterback of the future for the Seahawks.”

Shorty before Michael Robinson tweeted about his return Matt Flynn’s girlfriend Lacey Minchew (@lminchew) tweeted

Does she mean “on his way” meaning he’s on a plane of “on his way” meaning he’s going to sign?

The jurry is still out…..
