Seahawks Golden Tate fined $21k

$21K lighter in the wallet

Via RapSheet on twitter NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport is reporting Tate received the fine for striking a defenseless player in head/ neck area.

Hit on Jags Dwight Lowery, who had a concussion, and will miss this week’s game.

Here’s the tweet.

In other Seahawks news this week Stay tuned for a great matchup Seattle vs. Houston. Here’s the NFL.com video preview via our Facebook page.

Seahawks signed C Jason Spitz to take D’Anthony Smith roster spot. Spitz was released by the Jaguars in August. He had visited the Raiders & Steelers since then. The 2006 third-rounder hasn’t appeared in a game since 2011, or made a start since 2009. He was Green Bay’s third-round pick in 06.

Jordan Hill will practice this week on a limited basis, as will Jeron Johnson. Percy Harvin is in NYC rehabbing and doing “great”. Breno Giacomini is nursing a knee injury. Spencer Ware isn’t expected to be able to play OR practice this week. Kearse will also practice.

Tough day for Tate. It’s just too bad it couldn’t have been another de-cleater….EH? Sean Lee?
