NFL: Donny Lisowski
Dreams do come true. Those sentiments ring stronger than ever in Seattle after cornerback Donny Lisowski was signed by the professional football team he grew up watching, the Seattle Seahawks.

High School
Lisowski attended O’Dea High School in Seattle and was a standout athlete. He lettered multiple times in football (4), track (4) and wrestling (3). He was a league wrestling champion in 2004, his freshman year.
He was a finalist in the 200 and 400 that year for his track team as well.
The guy was born to compete.
He was a dual threat while playing football at O’Dea, playing the DB position as well as becoming a dangerous option quarterback. He was named captain of the team and led the Irish to the 3A state championship game.
His senior season saw him rush the ball for 671 yards and 16 touchdowns while adding 10 more through the air.
College
Lisowski chose to attend The University of Montana after receiving a full ride scholarship offer while on his official visit. It was a good move by the Grizzlies as Lisowski is as hard a worker as you’re gonna find.

Although he never got to consistently start at Montana, Lisowski saw time in several games and made an impact. Being relegated to special teams, he recorded 13 tackles his freshman year. His sophomore season saw him with his only start (against Sacramento State) until his senior year.
In that game, he made 7 tackles and had 2 passes defended. He went on to have 24 tackles on the season.
He played all but 1 game his junior year, recording 8 tackles. His senior season, he started 2 games and had 37 tackles on the season.
NFL
Lisowski went undrafted in this year’s draft, but was given a chance via rookie minicamps. The team brought him in as a body to work with the drafted rookies and impressed coaches so much, they signed him.
When asked what he did to make the team, Lisowski replied, “I came in there, controlled my effort and attitude, competed and made the most of my opportunity. And like Coach Carroll said, I was all over the field, I hustled my butt off.”
Lisowski said he came to camp to compete, because that’s all he knows how to do.
He’ll fit in perfect with this Seahawks team, which has bought into Carroll’s “Always Compete / Earn Everything” mantra 100 percent.
He figures to be a special teams guy at first, which is incredibly valuable to this Seahawks team due to the emphasis they put on size and speed on special teams. Lisowksi has PLENTY of speed.
And if he keeps competing as hard as he usually does, we may one day see him starting in the secondary.
