NFC West Week 13 Game Capsules
Only one team in the NFC west has a shot at the playoffs now with Seattle losing last week to the Redskins. The San Francisco 49ers face the St. Louis Rams this week in an NFC west battle. Vince Young and the Eagles play Tarvaris Jackson and the Seattle Seahawks, and Kevin Kolb leads Arizona against Tony Romo and the Cowboys.
Here’s my capsule previews and NFC West predictions for Week 13.
Good luck on your NFL bets, NFL picks, NFL Pools and whatever else your “NFL Gambling” on folks!
EAGLES @ SEAHAWKS (Dec 1, 8:20 p.m. ET):
The Seahawks (4-7) had their 2-game winning streak snapped in their loss to Washington on Sunday and that all but dashed their playoff hopes.
The Eagles (4-7) also lost last week and the “Dream Team” has been anything but this season.
The Seahawks gave up 2 big plays in the 2nd half that killed them in the loss to the Redskins and they also let rookie Roy Helu rush for over 100 yards for the first time in his career.
Don’t’ look for them to play good run defense facing the Eagles and their 2nd ranked run offense led by RB LeSean McCoy, who leads the NFL in rushing yards.
Marshawn Lynch will have to play well again on Thursday night. He again rushed for over 100 yards last week. 2 struggling teams on the Thursday night prime time game?
“NFL Action It’s FAAAAANTASTIC.”
COWBOYS @ CARDINALS (Dec 4, 4:015 p.m. ET):
The Cardinals (4-7) beat the Rams last week and they have won 3 of their last 4 games, but can they beat a red-hot Cowboys (7-4) that have won 4 straight and are now in first place in the NFC East? Not likely.
Tony Romo has been playing great as has rookie RB DeMarco Murray. Romo has a slew of weapons and will be facing an Arizona pass defense that only ranks 25th in the league.
Cardinals’ RB Beanie Wells had a HUGE game in the win over the Rams with 228 rushing yards and 1 TD.
He has to have another good game, and while he does have a banged up knee I’m hearing he will play this Sunday.
QB Kevin Kolb’s may return in this game, but that may not be a good thing since he has struggled all season. I wonder if Arizona is regretting this signing?
Arizona’s best win this season was against the Eagles, who are only 4-7.
RAMS @ 49ERS (Dec 4, 4:015 p.m. ET):
The 49ers (9-2) had their 8-game winning streak snapped in losing last Sunday night to the Ravens, but they should have no problem getting back on track at home facing a Rams team that has been decimated by injuries.
The Rams (2-9) and their nightmare season continues and to say this game is not a good match up is an understatement.
The St. Louis run defense ranks dead last in the league and they gave up 268 rushing yards to the Cardinals last week.
San Francisco’s Frank Gore struggled last week to run the ball, but the Ravens have a great run defense, he’ll get the complete opposite versus the Lambs.
On top of that the Rams will be facing a 49ers’ D that is the best in the league against the run and has allowed the fewest points in the NFL this season.
Not to sure how much longer Coach Spagnolo keeps his job in the gateway city.
