Patriots vs Seahawks Gambling?
Headline: Hawks Look to Ride 12th Man to Third Straight Home Win
The Seattle Seahawks have their hands full this weekend when they take on the New England Patriots at CenturyLink. The Patriots come to town on quite a high after a win against Denver in Week 5 and having maintained their top flight offense.

Seattle will have to hope to dumb the game down and slow the elite offense just as they did with Dallas and Green Bay. It should be another intriguing Sunday at CenturyLink – I can’t wait!
The New England Patriots are 3-2 on the year but bring in arguably their most balanced team in years to Sunday’s game.
We all know what Tom Brady, Wes Welker and Rob Gronkowski bring to the table – the difference this year is that the Pats possess the 3rd ranked running game in the NFL and they come to town having rushed for over 200 yards in two straight games.
Balance on offense is critical but is not typical for this New England team. That’s all this team needed – a stellar running game to help Tom Brady!
New England’s defense has been average so far this season but unfortunately their weak pass defense (30th in the NFL allowing 291 yards per game) likely won’t have to be great – Seattle’s passing game is woeful at the moment. New England also has the 8th ranked rush defense – they will have their hands full with a steady dose of Marshawn Lynch this weekend.
Seattle’s offense will have to score this week but likely won’t be able to keep up with New England. The Hawks have to hope the defense, the special teams and the 12th man are in fine form.
Seattle currently owns the 31st ranked passing game in the league – just 147 yards per game and Russell Wilson has been picked five times in his last two games – not good.
However they do have the 7th best running game – thanks Marshawn!
Obviously it will be the Seattle defense that determines whether they win or lose this weekend. They are going up against arguable the best all around offense in the game today.
The Hawks have been stellar however and do offer up a good challenge for Tom and the boys – 5th against the pass surrendering just 192 yards per game and 3rd versus the run allowing 66.60 yards per game.
Their goal will be to slow, not stop New England’s offense and hope that the offense can do enough.
Dave’s Free Won’t Cost You Anything Seahawks Betting Prediction
- New England is 6-0-1 ATS in its last 7 games on the road
- New England is 6-1 SU in its last 7 games on the road
- The total has gone OVER in 6 of New England’s last 7 games on the road
- New England is 13-3 SU in its last 16 games
- The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Seattle’s last 5 games
- Seattle is 4-1 SU in its last 5 games at home
- Seattle is 5-2 SU in its last 7 games when playing New England
- The total has gone OVER in 11 of Seattle’s last 16 games at home
This is a big game for both teams – 4-2 is a whole lot better than 3-3. I expect the Hawks to keep this one close for a while but for the quick strike New England offense to pull this one out in the end.
New England is built to score every time that they step onto the field – Seattle relies on teams shooting themselves in the foot every so-often.
It is a terrible matchup for Seattle even though they are at home – their offense simply won’t be able to keep up this weekend.
I hate to bet against Seattle at home – the 12th man is a huge factor but Tom and company simply don’t make the mistakes necessary for Seattle to have a chance in this one.
