Start ‘em & Sit ‘em Week 6
Fantasy Football – Seattle Seahawks Week 6 Predictions
The Seattle Seahawks are back home this week after an impressive win at Carolina this week. That’s the good news. Now for the bad news – they play the New England Patriots – arguably the best team of the decade in the NFL.
In terms of Fantasy, the Hawks have a chance to put up some decent numbers against a pass defense that has been torched so far in 2012.
So which Seahawks is worthy of a start for your Fantasy squad this week – let’s take a look.
Seahawks Fantasy Forecast for Week 6
QB Russell Wilson
10 rushing yards, 200 passing yards, 1 TD
Wilson passed for his best yardage total of his young career last week – a whopping 221 yards. The Patriots have allowed three straight opponents at least 345 yards passing – not good!
While I don’t expect 300+ yards from Wilson this week 200+ yards is definitely possible with 1 maybe even two TDs.
Do I expect his best game as a pro? Yes.
Am I suggesting starting him in Fantasy? Absolutely not!
RB Marshawn Lynch
80 rushing yards, 1 TD, 3 catches, 20 yards
It is impossible not to start Marshawn this week in Fantasy but temper your expectations a tad – the Pats have been decent versus the run, mostly because lesser teams have had to abandon the run after getting down early.
I see the same happening here – the Hawks will fall behind and have to rely on their passing game to catch up. I still project decent numbers for Lynch, just not great ones this week.
WR Sidney Rice
4 catches, 65 yards
Rice is definitely Seattle’s best receiver and he’s coming off a 67 yard effort. While I expect him to lead the team in receiving again this week I can’t see him being Fantasy relevant just yet.

New England has been poor against opposing Tight Ends this season
Matt Flynn would help his cause – don’t you think?
WR Golden Tate
3 catches, 50 yards
Tate has been the big play guy in the passing game – that’s not saying much! There just doesn’t seem to be enough passes to go around in Seattle which makes the pass catchers Fantasy irrelevant.
WR Doug Baldwin
2 catches, 25 yards
Finally returned to action last week and looked OK. But just like Golden Tate they are trying to divide a very small pie amongst the receivers.
Rice and Tate have more chemistry with Russell Wilson at the moment which leaves Baldwin out in the cold.
TE Zach Miller
4 catches, 40 yards 1 TD
New England has been poor against opposing Tight Ends this season – no TE has registered less than 50 yards against the Pats all season long. New England has also given up 4 TDs to TEs – I like Miller to be the fifth.
PK Steven Hauschka
1 FG 2 XP
D/ST
320 yards, 2 sacks, 1 FF, 1 Int.
The Patriots have had some protection issues so far this year and Mr. Brady has been prone to the occasional mistake.
Seattle’s D knows that they have to be huge or the Hawks have no chance.
Look for them to show up on Sunday and have a decent, not outstanding game with the aid of the 12th man.
