Moments in time…The Seattle Seahawks week that was

Finished with a bang, sort of

After blowing out the Buffalo Bills, Arizona Cardinals, and San Francisco 49ers, the Seahawks struggled, to say the least, once again against the St. Louis Rams.

But, the better team prevailed, and now the Seahawks hold the #5 spot in the NFC Playoffs, and now travel to Washington to face the Redskins on Sunday.

It’s been a couple of years, but I’m sure the fans can remember how to root on the home team while on the road.

Finishing on a high note was a major plus for this team, and now will have to face their demons once again by playing a road game on the east coast.

So with that, I give you my top 10!

10: Playoff bound

That’s right, your Seattle Seahawks are once again going to the tournament of all tournaments, the NFL Super Bowl Playoffs.

For the first time since that memorable “losing” division championship, the Seahawks will vie for a spot in the NFC Championship game, and then, hopefully, the Super Bowl.

9: We’ve got a good thing going

Okay, so we’re not the favorites heading in, but the official odds for the Seahawks to win the Super Bowl are 6-1 as of Wednesday afternoon.

Not the best, but, at least there are some people outside of the PNW who are paying attention to our little football team.

8: 100 yards or bust

Once again our go to guy Marshawn Lynch powered his way to a 100 yard game, pushing him over the 1500 yard mark. Lynch is only the third Seahawk to reach that mark.

7: Peyton who?

The NFL’s darling, Peyton Manning, doesn’t sit atop the rookie record books any longer. Well he does, but he has to share it with Russell Wilson now as well.

On Sunday, Wilson tied the mark for most TD passes by a rookie QB, set by Peyton Manning during his rookie season.

6: 140 tackles

Rookie LB Bobby Wagner, who led this team all season long, finished with 140 tackles in his first season. That number was good enough for 7th in the league. Another great pick by the team of PC/JS.

5: Raise the flag Sigi

In the long standing tradition of having people who are important to the community raise the 12th Man Flag, Seattle Sounders FC head coach Sigi Schmid was called on for the last game of the year.

Sigi and his wife were up on the platform, and Sigi wore a Seahawks colored Sounders scarf for the occasion.

4: Browner Back

With his four game suspension served, Brandon Browner will make his return to the Seahawks just in time for the playoffs.

3: Undefeated once again

For the first time since the year we went to the Super Bowl, the Seahawks finished the season perfect at home. Let’s hope that is our lucky charm once again.

2: Wilson wins Largent award

The award named after the greatest player to ever wear a Seahawks uniform was given to what some say will become the next greatest player to wear a Seahawks uniform.

Russell Wilson was named this years recipient of the Steve Largent award for the integrity of being a Seattle Seahawk. A perfect choice if you ask me.

1: Play of the week

I picked the record breaking TD pass for Russell Wilson for this weeks segment.

Here are his highlights from the game against the Rams on nfl.com.

Sunday can’t come fast enough, the Hawks are back!
