Packers vs Seahawks MNF Betting?

Headline: Seahawks Look to Knock Off Another of the NFL Elite on Monday Night

Two teams riding a wave of momentum meet in Seattle on Monday Night Football this week when the Green Bay Packers fresh off a Thursday Night beat down of the Chicago Bears take on the Seattle Seahawks who dismantled the Dallas Cowboys at home on Sunday. Seattle’s 12th man will be called upon once more as the home side attempts to send its second straight NFC Heavyweight home with their tales between their legs.

The Green Bay Packers began their season by delivering an uncharacteristic dud in Week 1 but bounced back in Week 2.

Monday Night Football:  Packers vs.  Seahawks

Still they don’t quite look like the team that most expected would terrorize this season. Aaron Rodgers had an OK Week 1 and in Week 2 passed for just 219 yards and one touchdown in the win.

All you Fantasy owners have to be freakin’ with those numbers!

One thing that has emerged for the Packers is a reliable running game – Cedric Benson touched the ball 22 times last week and the special teams provided some necessary short fields for the offense. The Packers defense has also been terrific this year – seriously!

They lead the league in sacks (Clay Matthews has six himself in two weeks) and the secondary led by Tramon Williams looks like he is back to the form that made him a start in 2010.

Are the Packers back to the complete team that won the Super Bowl only 18 months ago or did the Bears simply make them look that way?

How about them Hawks? After letting one get away in Arizona in Week 1 there was no way they were going to let it happen in their opener. Now that’s the way to start a game – an opening kickoff fumble recovery, a three and out for the defense and a blocked punt for a touchdown before most got their popcorn for the game!

The rest of the game was simply maintaining the lead – Marshawn Lynch was able to be heavily featured and he delivered to the tune of 122 yards on 26 carries.

We all know that if Beast Mode is dominating, the Hawks are likely winning.

Feed the BeastMode!! if Lynch is eating skittles, the Hawks are likely winning.

The early lead also helped Russell Wilson be a game manager rather than a game changer. He was solid not spectacular in completing 75% of his passes and moving the chains.

Once again, as expected, Seattle’s defense was terrific allowing the high powered Cowboys seven points! In the two games this season they have allowed a 43.5% conversion rate on third downs – this unit gets off the field and allows the offense to do their thing.

Seattle’s D will have their hands full with Aaron Rodgers and company, but I said that last week about the Dallas Cowboys.

The Betting Lines are all over the map at the moment – you can find the Packers -6 and at -3.

I had my doubts last week about Seattle hanging with Dallas – I was dead wrong! I won’t make that mistake again.

The 12th man is a tangible contributor and on Monday Night, you can bet that they will be amped. Green Bay’s offense hasn’t impressed me yet and I think the team is ripe for the picking on Monday Night.

Pick: Seattle Seahawks +3 in a second straight upset!
