Cincinnati vs. Seattle Betting?

The Seattle Seahawks will be anxious to get back on the field this Sunday to prove that last week’s 137 yard offensive output was the exception, not the rule.

*ATS Matchup Report*

Standing in Seattle’s way – the upstart and suddenly competitive Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals have won three straight games and are coming off their bye, healthy and right in the thick of the AFC North division race.

Andy Dalton, AJ Green and Jermaine Gresham are a terrific young nucleus for Cincinnati and have progressed at a much quicker pace than anyone could have envisioned. Dalton has passed for 1311 yards this season, seven touchdowns and just five interceptions.

The Bengals passing game ranks 20th in the NFL and has shown improvement each and every week.

The Bengals passing game may be the focus this week with the suspension of Cedric Benson. Bernard Scott will handle the rushing duties but he is a large downgrade from Benson. Seattle catches a break and could improve upon their 11th ranked rushing defense.

Defensively, the Bengals will be a challenge for Seattle – they are ranked near the top of every defensive category – 5th against the pass, 5th against the run and 4th best scoring defense in the NFL.

Bengals vs. Seahawks

Bengals vs. Seahawks Week 8 Gambling

Seattle would like a mulligan for last week’s effort but unfortunately for them, mulligans are not a part of the NFL game. They were without their starting quarterback, running back and tight end – all of whom could be back to face the Bengals this week.

We can only hope that Charlie Whitehurst is on the bench this week, that Marshawn Lynch is over his back issues and that Zach Miller passes all of his concussion tests.

Last week proved that these guys can at least make the Hawks competitive.

Seattle still ranks near or at the bottom of every offensive category in the NFL – they have the 28th ranked passing game, the 31st ranked running game and they are 27th in scoring in the league. The Hawks are a different team at home and assuming they are somewhat healthy, should be prime for a better performance than last week.

The Seahawks defense has been good this season – 11th in scoring and allowing just 21.33 points per game, 11th against the run allowing 105.0 yards per game and an unflattering 20th against the pass.

Seattle should be able to slow Bernard Scott but the question is whether or not the banged up secondary will be able to limit the effectiveness of Andy Dalton and the Cincinnati passing game.

My Free NFL Prediction

The Cincinnati Bengals have a lot of pieces in place to make them one of the most exciting up-and-coming teams. They are as complete as they have been in years.

The Bengals can beat you with offense or defense.

Seattle is in deep against a confident and rested Cincinnati team – pick the Bengals to go a most improbable 5-2 on the season.

Pick: Cincinnati Bengals -3 in a defensive battle. Final Score – 17-7
