Seahawks: Prankster Pete Carroll strikes again, has Raheem Brock “arrested”
I suppose making the playoffs with a sub-.500 record is enough to make you feel like you can do no wrong. Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll played the role of prankster for the second straight week, indicating he has plenty of time to have fun during the NFL preseason.
His latest ruse: getting defensive end Raheem Brock “arrested.” Brock was actually arrested this past June for not paying a $27 bar tab. He had been asked to leave the bar because his lady friend was very vocal about her distaste for the menu.
Yesterday, while Brock was sitting in a team meeting, police entered to confront Brock about a $3,000 hotel bill he never paid. Brock played the situation right, not panicking, fleeing or fighting. He calmly left the room with the police.
Carroll kept a straight face as the cops entered and stoically read the details of Brock’s hotel bill aloud. After Brock left, however, he revealed that Brock “just got punked.”
Carroll’s prank follows up last week’s effort, when he hacked into the University of Washington athletic department’s Twitter feed. On one hand, it’s fun to see Carroll showing his always-youthful personality and having fun with his job.
On the other hand, he has a 40-40 career record as an NFL coach.
Do you ever wonder if it’s time he cracked down and started showing players his mean face?
