Will It To Happen!
The Seahawks are sitting at 3-6 and it looks as if they are already out of the NFC West division race, but they play a pretty weak remaining schedule.
On top of that Seattle has 2 wins on the season against legit teams beating the Giants on the road a few weeks back and beating the Ravens at home last week.
Here are 7 reasons the Seahawks will run the table and finish the season at 10-6.
1. Marshawn Lynch is starting to rev it up
Lynch has rushed for over 100 yards in the last 2 weeks and what is even more of a good sign that he will finish the season strong is that in both of those games he was facing a solid run defense.
2. Tarvaris Jackson will have a strong second half
Jackson struggled in the first half of the season, but in the win over Baltimore he had a good game. While he did not throw a TD he was not picked off. He looks to be more comfortable in the offense, Coach Carroll today said his injury is not getting any worse, and these reasons will factor in heavily into the Seahawks plans and their 2nd half run.
3. Schedule is weak
The Seahawks schedule is favorable for the Seahawks. VERY favorable. They face the Rams twice, Redskins, Eagles, Bears, 49ers, and Cardinals.
Only the 49ers and the Bears have a current record over .500. The Redskins and Eagles are teams tumbling down the mountain, and we know who the Rams, 49ers and Cardinals are. There are no secrets in the NFC west.
Do any of these teams on ANY GIVEN SUNDAY really scare you?
Pete will have these guys ready on Sunday. There will be no letdown. Playoffs here we come!
4. Home sweet home
Besides playing the Bears in the Windy City the 2 toughest games are the 49ers and Eagles and those will be played in Seattle. (The Eagles aren’t looking like world beaters AT ALL anymore, plus they play that week on a short week and have to fly across the country. We saw what that did to the Ravens in Week 10)
5. The 49ers game is the 2nd to last one of the season
With the 49ers at 8-1 they are running away with the NFC West. The Seahawks face the 49ers in the 2nd to last game of the season and San Fran may have their playoff road mapped out already. We could get lucky, and they may rest some of their key starters. “May”.
6. The Seattle run defense is key
In 3 of the Seahawks last 5 games they play teams that feature 3 great RB’s in the Eagles’ LeSean McCoy, the Bears’ Matt Forte, and the 49ers’ Frank Gore.
One of the bright spots for the Seahawks this season has been their solid run defense. At one point they were #1 in the NFL at limiting their opponents on yards per carry. When facing good RB’s they have a good chance to shut down the opposing team’s strength on offense. BIGTIME!
7. WR Sidney Rice will get healthy
Like Tarvaris Jackson Rice will have a better 2nd half with a few games of the Seahawks’ offensive schemes under his belt. Pete Carroll said he suffered a concussion versus the Ravens, but he’s expecting to have him back this week against the Rams. He will get healthy and I think he will have a great home stretch.
There ya have it folks.
It may be wishful thinking but I truly believe that the Seahawks can and will run the table over their next 7 games.
They’ll finish 10-6 and maybe, just maybe be in contention for a wild card spot in the NFC.
