Washington Huskies (6-4) vs. OSU Beavers (2-8)
After a great start to the season UW has lost their last 2 games and 3 of their last 4, but they have a great chance to get back in the win column facing an Oregon State team that has lost 3 straight and is reeling.
The two losses by the Huskies have come to ranked teams and their offense sputtered last week in their 40-17 loss to USC. OSU is having major issues on both sides of the ball, as their nightmare season continues, but at least they are at home and Washington is only 1-3 on the road.
Do the Beavers have any answer for the big guns for the Huskies of QB Keith Price and RB Chris Polk?
I would say no, as I think they both will bounce back and have big games this Saturday.
We could even see Nick Montana in place of Keith Price, this could be fun to watch as well.
Last season in Seattle Washington beat Oregon State 35-34 in a barnburner in double OT.
Yet another thing the Beavers have going against them in this game is that there is a 65% chance of rain, which favors the team that can run the ball.
I would go out on a limb and say that would be the Huskies since they have a legit RB in Polk, and the Beavers rank 119th out of 120 FBS teams in rushing yards per game.
Price only passed for 125 yards in the blowout loss to USC and that was facing a suspect Trojans’ defense and this Saturday faces a decent OSU pass defense that ranks 46th in the nation.
I see Polk getting a TON of carries in this game, as even though he struggled last week he will be facing an OSU run defense that only ranks 86th in the nation and gave up 296 yards on the ground in the Beavers 23-6 loss to Cal last Saturday.
Huskies vs. Beavers Prediction
With the Beavers inability to run the ball the OSU guy that must have a good game is QB Sean Mannion, who did pass for 247 yards in the loss to Cal, but had 0 TD and was picked off twice.
The one thing the Beavers have going for them in this Pac 12 match up is that Washington only has the nations 104th ranked pass defense and their run defense gave up a ton of yards on the ground to USC last week.
I do not think the Huskies are a great team and that has shown in the last couple of weeks, but they are better than the Beavers, who will lose their 4th straight game while UW will snap their 2-game skid.
