Just how good is the Oregon Ducks football team?

State Of Ducks Football

After losing to LSU in their opener, the Ducks offense found its mojo and whopped its next two opponents into submission. Outscoring them 125-27.

The latest victim–the Missouri State Bears.

Oregon routed the Bears 56-7 last Saturday behind a nitro funny car performance from running back LaMichael James who ripped off 203 rushing yards and three touchdowns, and quarterback Darron Thomas, who passed for 206 yards and three scores to extend the Ducks’ home field winning streak to 18 games.

Oregon had 681 yards in total offense, including 416 on the ground, and held Missouri State to 289 yards, and didn’t allow any points after the Bears’ opening drive.

And to boot they haven’t had a turnover in 120 minutes of football.

The Ducks even turned to their backup players for nearly the entire second half including No. 2 quarterback Bryan Bennett, who was 5 of 6 for 59 yards and two touchdowns.

Oregon was a 47.5-point favorite and covered?!

But come on, what did you expect against a lower-division team from the Missouri Valley Conference?

After all, Oregon was a 47.5-point favorite.

Yeah, yeah, there are no gimmie-games, but these are one that the Ducks just couldn’t lose if they tried.

Now the real test begins, as the Ducks, who rarely find themselves in an underdog role these days, play its Pac-12 opener at Arizona this Saturday, but this time are just a 4.5-point favorite.

The Ducks are averaging nearly 8-yards every time they run a play, and have 21 TDS, good enough for second in the nation.

So, just how good is Oregon Football?

It would appear to me that the defending two-time conference champions are as good as they appear, and are ready to take aim at the Pac-12 title on their way to another National Championship bid.
