Canada Invades Safeco

Watch out The Canadians are coming!

That’s right its the annual Summer Classic at Safeco where 1000’s of Canucks make their pilgrimage south to watch their beloved Blue Jays take on the home town Mariners.

At times during game 2 tonight I thought I was watching a game in Toronto.

The crowd was into it, that’s for sure.  The announced crowd was just over 23,000, and I’m sure at least 1/4 of them were there to watch the Jays.

Safeco Field in Seattle Hosts The Blue Jays vs. Mariners

Colby Rasmus and Aaron Hill had four RBIs apiece as the visitors beatdown the M’s on Tuesday night.

The Blue Jays scored 6 runs in the 1st against Jason Vargas (7-11). Rasmus doubled in 3 runs, Brett Lawrie singled home Rasmus and Hill hit a 2-run homer.

26 hits tonight. It was a beauty. Pitching NOT EXACTLY at a premium in this one!

Seattle’s Mike Carp had two hits to extend his hitting streak to 16 games.

Jason Vargas gave up 8 runs and 7 hits in 4-plus innings, and lost for the 6th time in 7 decisions.

The two teams play the rubbermatch on Wednesday. Brandon Morrow the EX-Mariners is slated to start vs. Blake Beavan. Should be a DOOZY!
