Friday CFL Matchup: BC Lions vs. Toronto Argos
BC had their most complete, most impressive outing of the season two weeks ago in an astounding 36-1 win versus the struggling Edmonton Eskimos.
The Lions put it all together in that game – the offense generated 479 total yards and the defense registered four interceptions, eight sacks and gave up a total of just 239 yards of offense.
Hopes are high in the Lion’s Den that this team has finally turned the corner and are ready to live up to their lofty preseason expectation.
Toronto snapped a six game losing streak in their last game with a 24-18 win over Saskatchewan. However, they looked far from spectacular in that game.
Cleo Lemon looked terrific in a loss three weeks ago passing for 368 yards and three touchdowns but in their win two weeks ago was responsible for a measly 169 yards passing – go figure!
Corey Boyd is healthy again which is good news for Toronto but he was only able to generate 45 yards against the Rough Rider’s brutal run defense (although he found the end zone twice in that game).
Betting Prediction: The BC Lions are 11-1 SU in their last 12 games against Toronto, have won four of the last five games against the Argos and have won two of their last three games overall.
The Lions are a team that appear to have righted the ship. Too bad it took eight weeks! Toronto on the other hand looked pedestrian in their only win since Week 1 in their last game. I am not sold on Cleo Lemon or the Toronto Argonauts in the least.
At this point in time, BC is simple better in every aspect of the game.
BC’s dominance of the Argos continues Friday night!
