The BC Lions will attempt to build on a seven game win streak on their way to a much desired home playoff date when they take on a Saskatchewan Roughriders team than has been relegated to a spoiler role.

While the Lions have been playing incredible football of late, the Riders have been nothing short of awful in the last three weeks.
For BC there is still a lot to play for. For Saskatchewan a playoff spot is nearly out of reach – pride is all that they have to play for.
BC has reeled off seven straight wins and now sit tied atop the Western Conference standings with Edmonton and Calgary – two teams that they have beaten in consecutive weeks.
The offense has been playing at a very high level and the defense is finally realizing the potential that most felt they had before the season started.
Travis Lulay has been a revelation for BC.
He is second in the CFL in touchdown passes with 22 and he is averaging an incredible 7.5 yards per carry on the ground when the Lions need him to convert. He has Geroy Simon, Arland Bruce and Shawn Gore among others to throw to – very nice indeed. Lulay also has the suddenly potent and dependable Andrew Harris to hand the ball off to.
All in all the Lions offense is deep, complete and a handful for the competition.
There is not a whole lot to like about Saskatchewan’s offense going into Sunday’s game. The team has lost three straight games and has generated a total of nine points in those games – nine! The Riders have not scored an offensive touchdown in 205 minutes of play – totally offensive!
Saskatchewan scores a league low 19.7 points per game. The Riders may be forced to start Ryan Dinwiddie at quarterback on Sunday again – if Darian Durant can start he will surely be limited with a bad ankle.
For the record, Saskatchewan’s defense hasn’t been much better over the last couple of games – they have given up 99 points.
The BC Lions have won three straight against Saskatchewan and have won both matchups this season by a combined 49 points.
In the last meeting, BC emerged victorious by a score of 42-5.
The Lions are still trying to position themselves for a possible bye and home date for the impending playoffs – there is no way that they take the foot off the gas!
Saskatchewan looks as if they are already looking toward next year. I suppose the Riders could rally in front of their rabid home town fans but I just can’t see it happening.
This game won’t be close folks!
