Mike Leach said Connor Halliday, a freshman last season who threw for 960 yards and nine touchdowns in four games, will get a chance to beat out Jeff Tuel when the WSU Cougars begin spring practices next month.

Asked if Tuel is the clear-cut No. 1 quarterback, Leach said, “I look for him and Halliday to battle it out in the spring.”
