Barry Robson To join Vancouver from Middlesbrough
The Daily Mail reports Middlesbrough midfielder Barry Robson will play for the Whitecaps this season. Here’s the story.
Caps head coach Martin Rennie has made no secret of his desire to bolster his midfield and spent much of the Major League Soccer off-season searching for talent in the U.K.
We put out our Fearless MLS Vancouver predictions last night and all C-Mac could do was talk about the glaring HOLE in the middle of the park. It seems that Robson would fit the bill as a perfect compliment to the various attacking options that Van FC has.
Robson has a two-and-a-half-year contract with Middlesbrough that is set to expire in June, with an option to extend the deal for another year.
He's a 33-year-old natural left-footer.
He's found at central or left midfield and said in an interview last year he had at least three more years of top-level football left in him and dreamed of playing for Scotland at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
It's OFFICIAL
WhitecapsFC make it official. They have signed Scotland's Barry Robson to be their 2nd Designated Player. He'll join VAN in July.
