Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced today that the club has transferred midfielder Davide Chiumiento to FC Zürich of the Swiss Super League for an undisclosed fee.

Per club and league policies, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“I have really enjoyed my time in Vancouver and I would like to thank the fans, the club, and my teammates for all of their support,” said Chiumiento. “It’s been two great years but now I look forward to the next chapter of my career, which will fortunately bring me closer to my family.”
Chiumiento, 27, joined Whitecaps FC in August 2010 after spending four seasons in his native Switzerland, including three years with FC Luzern, and one season with Berner Sport Club (BSC) Young Boys.
