Per a press release first seen at the D.C. United website we've learned today that DC have acquired Whitecaps FC striker Long Tan for a 1st Round Supplemental pick in the 2015 draft.

2015? Yes. I typed that. 2015.

In 2012 Tan has appeared in only four games.

Funny enough his only MLS notch in the belt came against DC United in October 2011.

“We’re happy to have Long join our organization and will look forward to him joining the team. He's an interesting prospect and a player we feel has a future upside,” said D.C. United General Manager Dave Kasper.
The Caps also waived midfielder Floyd Franks earlier today. He had only made two MLS appearances as a substitute.

“We are thankful for Long and Floyd’s contributions since joining the club,” said Whitecaps FC head coach Martin Rennie. “We wish both players all the best for the future.”
