Whitecaps FC confirmed striker Omar Salgado has suffered a fracture in his right foot, while on international duty with the United States U-20 team in Uruguay.
The El Paso Texas forward appeared as a first-half sub in the friendly in Montevideo before coming out of the match with the injury in the 82nd minute.
In the 2012 MLS season Salgado has started 5 of 6 MLS appearances he has totalled one assist.“We are disappointed to hear about Omar’s injury,” said Whitecaps FC head coach Martin Rennie. “While it is a setback for him, we are confident that he will have a full recovery.”
