According to the Twitter Account of Ben Kuzma on Saturday the Vancouver Canucks placed Keith Ballard (neck) on LTIR.
Ben goes on to say this move by the Vancouver front office frees up $4.2M in salary cap space to make a significant trade move Monday, should the Canucks be interested in making said move.

I can't see Steve Ott fitting in with the Canucks, but I'd be interested in adding the grit and talent that comes with Dustin Brown. He has lead the league in hits before and would fit nicely alongside Ryan Kesler in the top-six. A nice upgrade to the Amex line.
The Kings would be crazy to trade Dustin Brown unless Richards is making a play for power in the dressing room, which he very well could be. If he's available, I'd jump on him.
