I'm referring to the Canucks. What, you think there recent surge is a good thing?

I guess so, but they're still playing at a subpar level. Scratching out wins over Edmonton, Colorado, Minny and Phoenix?

Losing to Calgary? Not exactly impressive stuff guys. Plus, the Sedins must be hurt. I mean, their production hasn't exactly been brilliant recently.

A bit average. You know what pairing is ahead of them in the standings?

The boooooring trade deadline made only slightly more interesting by Rick Nash

I'd like to point out that awesome in-season trade never happen.

Ever.

Everyone knows this, but its supposed to be an exciting part of the season, so we have to create stroylines.

Thus: Rick Nash. Also, I want to point out something. RICK NASH ISN'T THAT GOOD!

He's not a winner. He's been dogging it in a terrible franchise for his whole career, and he doesn't deserve anything close to the money he's getting.

Oh, and he's having his worst season of his career.

I can only hope the Canucks don't get stupid and sign him, because HE'S NOT WORTH IT!

Well the Canucks aren't going to sign him, they would trade for him, but yeah you're right. Rick Nash isn't the answer for the Canucks. Neither is Corey Perry or Jeff Carter or any other high-priced winger.

They need a defencemen but those guys just don't seem to be available right now.

And as for the streak-slump, I'm not too concerned. They suck, but they're winning, so in a weird way that's actually a good sign. The schedule is nothing but boring right now anyway. Wake me up in April, or even March.

I'm with Hodges, not concerned about the team's play at all lately. The fact they're finding ways to win games despite icing obviously sub-par performances is a good thing. "Call me in April," applies in this case to both the trade deadline and the team's play. The Canucks aren't going to make a big splash unless given an offer GM MG couldn't refuse, so expect to see the same team to be ratcheting up their play down the home stretch.

I think for both the team and the fans it's all about the playoffs this year. Who really cares how many wins they get in February?

If Nash doesn't move at the deadline, and the Canucks don't win the cup this year, I could see Canucks trading for Nash in the summer.
