They called him up for one game, sent him back, and now what? It's strange. For a guy who played 29 regular season games and five playoff games with tremendous poise, the Canucks really haven't been keen on giving him a look this year. Tanev has the ability to play the transition game the Canucks are built upon that Aaron Rome or Andrew Alberts or especially Alex Sulzer don't have. So what gives? Are they trying to season him in the minors under the watchful eye of Craig MacTavish? Maybe they figure that Tanev is so poised that he can be called up in spot duty and fit seamlessly into the system.
