I was going to write a blog post on this, but then I thought NAH. That requires about 10 minutes more effort than a forum post, and that's 10 minutes more than I want to spend covering this sitch.
Vancouver Canucks forward Ryan Kesler has taken exception to an assertion made by his coach that he doesn't use his linemates well enough.
Alain Vigneault suggested following the Canucks' 4-2 loss to the Ducks on Monday that Kesler needs to rely on others in order to become a better player.
Kesler was made aware of the comments, and lashed out in response.“He’s got to use the players around him a little bit more so he can get into open space and create the type of offensive chances and be the defensive player he can be," Vigneault told reporters after the loss.
Kes has 12 goals and 19 assists in 41 games this season."Me utilize my players?" he said. "Obviously, I don't know what he means by that and if he wants to say that he can come to me and talk to me about it.
Today the Province is reporting this is a overblown media mess. GORDON MCINTYRE has asked Can you imagine if Kesler had tried to joke and said something along the lines of: “AV has got to use the assistant coaches around him a bit more”?
Relax Vancouver. Everything is fine with the defending "Presidents Cup Trophy Winners".
The ego's are in check. Look at this team over the last 3 years. They are winning. No ego's. It's all fine and well in Canucksland.
