The Hawks are off a strong start while the Canucks are floundering.

"There are games you have marked on your calendar and we'll be ready for it," said Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews. "The pace is always elevated between these two teams and that's not changing. It seems like it builds every time we play Vancouver. Things come up that add to the mix.

"It's more than just hockey out there. Guys get into it pretty good. Little things happen, whether it's hits or plays, and things you remember and you want to get even every time. They've probably been preparing for it as much as we have. There's a lot of motivation in a game like this. You hate to lose to a team like Vancouver."

"This isn't just another game and I've been looking forward to it. The whole city has," said Bolland. "There will be some sort of edge with Carcillo, and [Jamal] Mayers will be into it. They'll know what it's like to play Vancouver and how hated the rivalry is. It's heated. Something may happen, you never know."

"We all know the history of the last few years and I think the boys are excited," said Luongo. "I've always liked playing in this rink. It's one of my favourite barns and I've had some great games in here and some that weren't so great. The intensity always makes it a great game, but we want to make sure we're playing our game.

"The other stuff surrounding the game is just stuff that gets the juices going."
