Steve Pinizzotto re-signs with the Canucks
Last week we speculated that the Canucks could and would re-sign Steve Pinizzotto. We've just learned they did just that this morning.
Via the Canucks twitter account. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>And as we're on the conference call, <a href="https://twitter.com/search/%2523Canucks">#Canucks</a> re-sign centre Andrew Ebbett and right wing Steve Pinizzotto.</p>— Vancouver Canucks (@VanCanucks) <a href="https://twitter.com/VanCanucks/status/219841304249638913" data-datetime="2012-07-02T17:13:46+00:00">July 2, 2012</a></blockquote>
<script src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> Pinizzotto suffered a shoulder injury in 2011/12 season and was declared out for the season in November.
Originally signed by the Canucks on March 7th, 2011 the rugged right winger will be relied upon for training camp depth but for him to make the big squad come beginning of the season is a longshot.
Pinizzotto, 27, spent the 2010 season with the Washington Capital’s AHL affiliate, the Hershey Bears.
He grabbed himself 42 points (17-25-42) and 178 penalty minutes in 68 games that year.
Time will tell what kind of impact he makes in 2012/13.
