Last week we speculated that the Canucks could and would bring back Andrew Ebbett after letting him test free agency without signing him to a contract extension.
They did just that this morning.

We also learned via Jim Jamieson who spoke with Ebbett that he was looking for one-way deal, but had to settle for 2-way deal for 600k/300k after missing most of last year with injuries.
Reggie Gill one of our Canucks bloggers says "Andrew Ebbett was a role player who figured to be on the third or fourth line if he stayed on with the Canucks this year. He played in 18 games in the 2011-2012 season, and netted 5 goals.
He was not valued much more than a plug and play player who could be easily replaced by the team going into next season."
In the big Bruins vs. Canucks clash on January 7th Ebbett suffered a crushing hit from Dennis Seidenberg just 3 shifts into the game.
He would not return until the final 5 games of the season. He also sat out 11 of the first 13 games in 2011/12 season.
I hope he sticks on the team in 2012/13 to be honest. If healthy he provides some nice options on the wing or at center for AV.
Time will tell.
