For a long time I've been ewwwing and awwwing over Abbotsford B.C. golfer Adam Hadwin. He's the next "Mike Weir" if you will. He's got the game, the charm, the attitude, the drive and the swing.
He'll be on the PGA tour for a long long time.
Hadwin appeared and made the cut in five PGA Tour events in 2011: U.S. Open, RBC Canadian Open, Frys.com Open, McGladrey Classic and the Greenbrier Classic.
He was awarded the Rivermead Trophy for being the Low Canadian at the RBC Canadian Open in 2011 and 2010 and won the 2011 Pacific Colombia Tour Championship.
In 2010 Hadwin was named as the Canadian Rookie of the Year after winning the Desert Dunes Classic and finishing in the Top-10 in his first three Canadian Tour Events.
He received an exemption to play at the 2011 RBC Canadian Open PGA Tour Event and earned Nationwide Tour status at Qualifying School.
Hadwin attended the University of Louisville where he earned All-American Honourable Mention for the 2008-09 season.
He's going to make a lot of money in his career. What's better than that I ask?
Partnering with his favorite hockey team of course.
The Canucks announced today that they have entered into a promotional partnership with Nationwide Tour golfer Hadwin.
Per a press release from Canucks.com
As part of the new partnership, Hadwin will support Canucks Sports & Entertainment’s charitable initiatives by participating in signature Canucks for Kids Fund events where his schedule permits.
Hadwin will display the Vancouver Canucks primary logo on his apparel while on tour and in other sanctioned PGA events.
“We are pleased to announce our new association with Adam Hadwin,” said Victor de Bonis, COO, Canucks Sports & Entertainment and Alternate Governor, NHL. “Adam embodies a number of qualities we value at our organization, from his competitive drive, to his commitment to professional success, to his connection to British Columbia. Adam’s partnership with the Canucks extends into the community realm, allowing us to further support local charities in innovative ways. We are extremely proud to have Adam represent our organization and for his support as an avid Canucks fan.”
“It is a great honour to partner with my favourite professional sports team, the Vancouver Canucks, and I am thrilled and proud to wear their logo on the Nationwide Tour,” said Adam Hadwin. “This is a very exciting time in my professional golf career and I look forward to sharing it with the Canucks organization and their fans everywhere.”![]()
