We found out Tuesday that Vancouver Canucks Center Ryan Kesler had "Successful" shoulder surgery on a torn labum in his shoulder.

This was announced by the Canucks on Tuesday. It's also reported he'll need six months to recover.

The expected return date with this type of rehab would put him around a mid-November 2012 return to the club.

“After consultation with our team physicians following the playoffs, it was deemed that Ryan would require a procedure on his shoulder,” said President and General Manager, Mike Gillis. “We expect a full recovery and determined this procedure would best serve the team’s and Ryan’s long term goals.”
Newly extended General Manager Mike Gillis announced the news to the media.

This marks the second season in a row that Kesler has needed off-season surgery. Last summer he had to get his hip reapaired that he injured in the Western Conference Final.

The 27-year-old Kesler tallied 22 goals and 27 assists through 77 regular season games this year, and added three assists in the post-season.
