NCAA Basketball Betting – Huskies Visit Struggling Sun Devils In Pac-12 Action
Get away from that hockey blog for a minute and check out some college hoops action from the Pac-12, one of the most wide-open conferences in the country. Washington is a team that has a solid chance of claiming the conference, but they’ll need to win games like their visit to Arizona State on Thursday night. The Sun Devils have been slumping all season, but the Huskies can’t afford to underestimate them.
Washington Arizona State Odds – Thursday, 8:30 PM ET
The Huskies (12-7, 5-2 Pac-12) bounced back from a disappointing loss at home to California with a 76-63 win against Stanford, also at home. A sportsbook review of this game may state that the Huskies were a bit fortunate to come away with the victory as they were 11-of-24 at the foul line and had 16 turnovers, but they also shot 50.8% from the field (while holding the Cardinal to 35.9%) and outrebounded Stanford 39-31. Tony Wroten had a solid all-around game with 21 points, five boards and four assists, while Terrence Ross added 18 points and seven rebounds for the Huskies, who are eighth in the nation on the glass and players that use pay per head systems know that is a huge factor in a team’s success.
The Sun Devils (6-13, 2-5 Pac-12) were thumped 64-43 at Utah in a meeting of two awful Pac-12 teams, and they’ve now lost four of their last five games by 11 points or more. Carrick Felix had 13 points, while Kyle Cain and Jordan Bachynski combined for 20 points and 13 boards off the bench for the Sun Devils, who are in a world of trouble as they are still without Trent Lockett because of an ankle injury, and Keala King was suspended. They were the leading scorers for the Sun Devils, and you can imagine New England’s Superbowl betting odds without Tom Brady and Wes Welker; it’s obviously a little different in terms of perspective, but that’s how important those two were to this team.
Washington will be the favorites on the road in this online betting affair, and they’re 4-1 SU and ATS in their last five trips to Arizona State with four of the five falling under the posted total. The Huskies probably would have beaten the Sun Devils comfortably even with Lockett and King in the lineup, but now it could be over by halftime as the Huskies like to push the pace and force their opponents into making mistakes. The Sun Devils don’t have the depth or ability to hang with them for long and the Huskies should run wild on the boards as well. Take Washington to cover the NCAA basketball betting spread easily.
