According to the report on Orangebloods.com, Oklahoma's board of regents is tired of the conference's instability. Nebraska and Colorado left before this academic year for the Big Ten and Pac-12, respectively, and A&M's departure would have left the league with nine schools.
I think it's a done deal. Pac 12 to become Pac 16. Conference of Champions is about to get crazier. Can you imagine Oregon and USC playing Texas and Oklahoma regularly?! So much can come of this!
Not to mention the prospects of UW pulling off AMAZING upsets regularly :)
Ok so I was wrong. Texas was apparently trying to play leveraging games behind the scenes and the Pac-12 declined the expansion due to concerns of inequality amongst the schools, with PAc-12 stresses equality amongst its members. Fair enough. Texas may have to go independent with their greed
