College Basketball Odds Makers Eye No. 4 Baylor With Caution
The undefeated Baylor Bears have crept into the No. 4 spot in the polls this month, and will just now get the opportunity to start testing themselves against stiffer competition. This Monday bet on a Big 12 tilt between the Bears and No. 10 Kansas Jayhawks.
Though Baylor has thrived under the radar so far, it gets harder and harder for the program to stay unnoticed the more their early season win grows. Now at 15 games and counting, the Bears stand to push even higher up the rankings if anybody ahead of them slips.
Would a victory over Kansas on Monday help solidify their case as contender for the National Tournament this spring? According to Bovada’s college basketball betting line, the Bears have 14/1 odds of winning March Madness. Kansas, however, sits close behind at 22/1.
If the Jayhawks can rally back from a discouraging defeat to Davidson last month, this could be the source of momentum they use to emerge as a force in the Big 12 down the stretch, but it won’t be easy.
With all of the action unfolding in the Big Ten and elsewhere throughout the country it’s easy to overlook the relatively quiet Big 12, but if Baylor continues their upward trend, and the rest of the conference follows suit, they could be getting a lot more recognition come March.
