Darvish agrees to six-year, $60 million
Great news in the AL West today for Mariners fans eh?
The Texas Rangers beat the deadline to sign Japanese pitching sensation Yu Darvish, agreeing to terms on a six-year, $60 million contract with the righthander Wednesday.
Darvish is expected to bolster a rotation that lost its ace in each of the past two seasons in lefthanders Cliff Lee and C.J. Wilson.
The 26-year-old Darvish will join a staff that includes Alexei Ogando, Colby Lewis, Matt Harrison and Derek Holland.
Frickin Fabulous & Fantastic all rolled into one!
In 7 seasons in Japan, Darvish logged a career mark of 93-38 with a spectacular 1.99 ERA.
On a positive note.
The signing of Darvish likely took the Texas Rangers out of the running for free-agent first baseman Prince Fielder.
