College Basketball Betting – Redhawks Host Portland State In Home Finale
While the March Madness schedule is taking priority nowadays, there are games to check out that are outside of tournament action on Saturday, Seattle will wrap up their home season against Portland State.
Portland State Seattle Odds – Saturday, 10:10 PM ET
The Vikings (17-14, 10-6 Big Sky) fell apart late in a 69-63 loss to Weber State in the semifinals of the Big Sky tournament, and a 5 dimes review of the game would definitely point to an 11-1 edge for Weber State over the final five minutes. Charles Odum poured in 24 points before fouling out, while Chehales Tapscott added 19 point and 11 rebounds for the Vikings, who were outscored by six points at the foul line and allowed Weber State to shoot 51.1% from the field. It was a game that the Vikings should have won if not for their struggles down the stretch, but players that use price per head bookie services know that you have to play a full 40 minutes against any team in college basketball to get a win, especially in a tournament one-and-done setting, and Portland State didn’t do that.
The Redhawks (11-15, Independent) throttled Longwood 111-74, hitting 51.2% of their field-goal attempts and they were 16-of-36 from beyond the arc. Sterling Carter netted 28 points, while Jarell Flora added 14 points off the bench for the Redhawks, who also held a 53-37 edge on the glass in what was a fantastic all-around performance, but they won’t be an option for betting March Madness fans anytime soon thanks to an ugly start to the season. The Redhawks are finishing strong, however, and they have a lot of momentum with five wins in their last six games.
Therefore, the Redhawks should be the college basketball betting favorites at home as they look to close out the season on a high note, and this should be a relatively entertaining game to watch as Portland State is 30th in the country in points scored and Seattle is 31st, so there may not be a lot of defense being played here. The only question seems to be whether the Redhawks can hang with the Vikings in terms of shooting percentage, where Portland State is 17th nationally and Seattle is 188th. The first meeting of the season between the two went down to the wire as Portland State escaped with a 66-65 win at home on November 15th in a surprisingly defensive affair as neither team shot better than 44% from the field and we expect that to change on Saturday. Seattle wants to put on a show in their last home game, while Portland State wants to erase the memory of their loss to Weber State. Take Seattle at home in yoursport betting books.
